Westminster Presbyterian Church of Hattiesburg
Children and Youth Ministry
The children and the youth of Westminster Presbyterian Church are a vital part of the church. In these ministries, the love of Jesus Christ and the message of the Gospel is introduced, taught, nurtured, and lived out through play, study, fellowship, and hands-on mission projects. Intergenerational in nature, the children and youth ministries frequently interact with all age groups in the church family. The children and youth participate in worship in many ways. The children are part of an exciting choir program and a Time with the Children lesson during the weekly church service. There is also an annual Sunday service, which is led entirely by the youth of Westminster. Multiple fellowship and Bible study opportunities are offered throughout the week for our young people. The summer also holds many opportunities for all ages of the program. The younger children attend Camp Hopewell in Oxford, MS. The middle school children attend Montreat Middle School conference in Tennessee and the high school-aged youth attend Montreat Senior High Conference in North Carolina. These experiences give our children the opportunity to meet youth members outside of our church and share in their faith. The children and youth are not just the future of the church tomorrow. They are also the church of today. Westminster joyfully invests in helping to grow and nurture the faith of our children and youth.
